Angel Flight is an organisation close to our hearts, and we are so excited to announce that we will be donating the proceeds of this year's festival to support their work! As many of you know Sunny Days for Jason was formed in the memory of Jason Sealey, who passed away from cancer in 2011. Jason lived in the small town of Thargomindah in far western Queensland, and regularly travelled to the Sunshine Coast for treatment. However in early 2010 there was a flood that prevented travel by road for a total of three months. During this time Angel Flight flew Jason from Thargomindah to the Sunshine Coast for his treatments, and continued to offer support even when the flood was over, providing a total of 13 flights.
We can't thank Angel Flight enough for the difference they make in people's lives every day, but we hope this donation will help them to continue their work, and we look forward to continuing to support them in the future. So Angel Flight, on behalf of the Sunny Days for Jason community, Jason's family, and friends, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Where to go
Sunny Days for Jason will be held at the Kenilworth Showgrounds this year, which is located just outside the small rural town of Kenilworth (about 40 minutes from Noosa, 45 minutes from Maroochydore Airport and one and a half hours from Brisbane.)
The Showgrounds are located less than a 5 minute walk into town on Maleny Kenilworth Road, so you'll be able to take advantage of everything Kenilworth has to offer, including the famous Kenilworth Bakery, the Kenilworth Cheese Factory, the Kenilworth Hotel, and the numerous cafes and shops.
What time can I arrive?
You can sign in and set up anytime from 12pm on Friday.
What to do when you arrive
Once you arrive at the Showgrounds, simply follow the Sunny Days for Jason signs to the campsite and head to the registration tent. Provide your name and booking details (see your confirmation email) to the staff at the tent and they will provide you with your SD4J wristbands, site tags, and any pre-purchased raffle tickets.
Once you've chosen your camp site and set up there's just one thing left to do ..... HAVE FUN!
Can I still come if I haven't booked in advance?
Of course! Just head to the registration tent and let us know, you can pay on the spot by cash or card.
What do I need?
You'll need your camping gear, warm clothes, any drinks you'd like to consume and some cash if you'd like to buy food, raffle tickets or merchandise.
